Description:
The Gloucester 25225R2 Single Screw Extruder is a high-performance plastic extrusion system, designed for efficient and precise polymer processing. Featuring a 2.5" diameter screw with a 32:1 L/D ratio, this extruder ensures consistent material processing with an electrically heated, air-cooled, non-vented barrel at an approximate 65” centerline height.
The barrel is Contra-Cool ready but does not include a blower. The gearbox, with a 13.75:1 reduction ratio, is direct-driven in a wraparound manner by a 60 HP Baldor DC motor, offering smooth operation and consistent extrusion control. The system is controlled via Saftronics SCR drive control, providing precise motor speed and torque adjustments.
This extruder includes a 1 HP pump with a heat exchanger on the gearbox, ensuring optimal temperature regulation and efficient system performance. The unit was originally manufactured in 1995 and completely reconditioned in 2011 but never put back into service, making it an excellent option for those seeking a near-new extruder at a used price.
The new control panel features fourteen (14) temperature control zones, enhancing process stability and material consistency. Additionally, all wiring is run to a terminal strip, simplifying electrical connections. The drive control is supplied loose, allowing for custom integration into an existing production setup.
This extruder includes two (2) new/rebuilt screws, providing additional value and process flexibility.
