The Used Ross HSM-40 Vacuum Double Helical Ribbon Mixer Reactor is a heavy-duty 316 stainless steel processing system designed for demanding high-viscosity mixing, blending, and reaction applications. Unlike conventional double planetary mixers, the Ross Double Helical Ribbon (HSM) Mixer provides faster, more efficient mixing for many viscous products by continuously moving material both vertically and radially throughout the vessel.
Designed for operation under vacuum or positive pressure, the vessel is ASME-rated for 35 PSI at 350°F, while the jacket is rated for 100 PSI at 350°F, making it ideal for heating, cooling, vacuum processing, and pressure reactions. The insulated jacketed mixing can includes a thermocouple provision for precise temperature monitoring and process control.
The mixer features an air-over-oil lift mechanism that raises and lowers the drive assembly for easy vessel removal and batch changeover. Power is supplied by a 7.5 HP explosion-proof motor operating on 575 Volt, 3 Phase, 60 Hz electrical service. The unit includes stainless steel product contact surfaces but is offered without controls, allowing integration into existing process systems or custom control packages.
