The Parma Manufacturing Co., Inc. has an interesting history.
The company was established in 1940 and had locations in both Parma, Michigan and Cleveland, Ohio.
In 1948, they began producing a gravity-fed metal-cutting bandsaw that had been patented by Carl A. Furtwangler.
Fast forward to 1999, the rights to this gravity-fed saw were acquired by Dake Corp., which continues to sell it as the “Work-A-Matic SXC” gravity-fed bandsaw, sometimes referred to as the “SXC Parma” saw.
