Description
26.8 MM Btu/hr. Crude Oil & Water Heater
Uniflux heater with low NOx natural gas burner, heat transfer coil, economizer, combustion air
blower, instruments and controls as detailed on the attached Specification Sheets SP-1, SP-2
& SP-3. The heater is has corrosion resistant paint, bolts and studs and a 316 stainless steel
control panel enclosure to provide corrosion resistance for coastal area. The heater is
internally supported to resist shipping damage. Export crating is not included. It is
recommended that the skid be crated.
FUEL SYSTEM CONTROLS
The heater offered includes a Fireye YB110 BurnerLogix microprocessor-based integrated
burner management control. This controller provides burner sequencing, ignition and flame
monitoring protection. It interfaces with a Fireye 45UV5 self-checking flame scanner, fuel and
air pressure switches, and temperature switches. It also has a Fireye YZ300 first-out
annunciator. The sequencing, operating status and annunciation functions are displayed on
an alpha-numeric display. The Fireye YB110 also has modbus communications. This
provides a reliable and cost effective burner management system.
For combustion control, Exotherm offers the Maxon Smartlink valve system. This system
includes two control valves, each direct coupled to an electric actuator. The actuators use
planetary gears for high accuracy and repeatability. The actuators are electronically linked
through an interface module. The interface module receives the 4-20 mA demand signal and
converts it into a digital position signal for each valve. The interface module then compares
feedback position signals from the valves with the position signals sent to ensure accuracy.
The module stores the valve characterizations (programmed at setup by Exotherm
representatives), so the heater is always firing with the correct fuel gas and air ratio. There
are no mechanical linkages to slip, bend or come loose. The valves can be tuned from the
control panel. We have found the system to be very safe, reliable, and robust.
Uniflux heaters use the convection heat transfer principle. Convection heat transfer results
in uniform flux rates and uniform tube wall temperatures. The benefits of this are long tube
life and safe operation.
The heater offered is fully equipped with a flame safety system, valves and instruments
and is completely wired, piped and functionally tested.
