The Didion MD-100MK5 rotary media drum shakeout is an advanced piece of foundry equipment designed to combine multiple processing steps into one efficient unit. Utilizing a patented dual chamber design, this system performs shakeout, sand screening, casting cleaning, and casting cooling. It separates green sand from core sand and dramatically improves sand conditions through the back blending action of hot/dry sand with cooler/moist sand. The rotary drum screens the sand, eliminating the need for additional screening equipment, and produces cleaner castings, which reduces shot blast time and labor. This equipment is suitable for high-speed, high-pressure, flaskless molding systems and is capable of processing no-bake and shell moulding. It is effective for cleaning a variety of metals including brass, bronze, ductile, gray, malleable, and steel castings.
