This machine consists of perforated aluminum trays with a fixed back plate mounted on a wood frame. To operate simply insert two trays into the machine of the size required for the type of separation desired. Weigh 1000 grams sample of cleaned, shelled, milled rice. After assuring that the trays are secure, start the motor. Place the rice into the top tray. After the sample has passed over the trays, remove and empty that portion of sample into a separate container. Weigh the rice sample remaining on the trays and the one that passed over the trays separately. From these figures you will obtain the percentage of separation.
