Beloit 30-inch DD4000 Refiner
Only 4 years old

The GL&V Beloit 30-inch DD4000 refiner is an industrial double disc refiner used in pulp and paper mills for processing stock (pulp) to achieve optimal fiber treatment. It is known for its robust design and features a 30-inch rotor, although models are often listed as 26/30" which indicates use with a 26-inch rotor and spacer rings or 30-inch plates.
Key Features and Specifications
Application: The refiner is manufactured specifically for pulp and paper mill operations to cut, fibrillate, or brush fibers, depending on the chosen refiner plate pattern.
Design: It features a double disc (DD) design which can be configured for Duoflo operation, where stock flow is split internally across both sets of discs in parallel, requiring only one inlet and one outlet pipe.
Construction: Key components like the sliding head, base lining, and internal construction are typically made with or lined with Type 316 stainless steel for corrosion resistance. The shaft features a replaceable sleeve, often ceramic coated.
Adjustment Mechanism: Plate positioning is managed by an electromechanical positive-action system, which can be a 2-speed gearmotor or a variable frequency drive (VFD) gearmotor for precise control of the plate gap (0.0003-0.005").
Maintenance Access: The refiner features a hinged end housing for easy access during plate inspection or replacement, which eliminates the need to disconnect major piping in Duoflo configurations.
Instrumentation: It includes an integral gauge panel with pressure gauges for inlet stock, outlet stock, and packing box water, along with a seal water control valve and pressure switches.
