Self-Closing Nozzle for Dust Protection

The Markoprint Shutter Printhead HP is a thermal inkjet (TIJ) system designed for production environments where dust and debris are a concern. Its integrated self-sealing shutter automatically retracts and covers the cartridge nozzles during pauses in production, preventing dust ingress, ink drying, and clogged nozzles. This ensures clean, high-quality printing without the need for continuous cleaning or cartridge removal.

The shutter opens automatically when production resumes, triggered by upstream signals, allowing printing to begin without operator intervention. The single printhead prints up to 12.5 mm (½ inch), and a twin-head configuration is available for continuous messages up to 25 mm (1 inch).

The unit supports high-resolution printing of text, graphics, and barcodes, and can be integrated for top or side printing. It accepts external triggers and connects to databases, Ethernet, or USB systems for variable data, making it suitable for both new and existing production lines.
