Liquid-solid separation of slurries in the chemical industry is achieved using filter equipment selected to meet specific process requirements. Slurries containing fragile precipitates, fast settling, heavy particles or slow filtering material are processed on the Komline-Sanderson ADPEC Horizontal vacuum filter to produce high quality filter cake and clear filtrate.
The K-S ADPEC is engineered for continuous operation using a patented discharge mechanism which eliminates tracking problems and features low maintenance and operating costs.
At the filter feed end, gravity and vacuum work to form a uniform filter cake. Segregation between filtration/washing/drying zones allows for high efficiency co-current or counter current cake washing. Wash liquor requirements are minimized by controlling the wash rate and cake thickness and by selecting an optimum wash arrangement. Filtrate is pumped away from the filter and may be re-used or sent for further processing. At the discharge end filter cake is produced and may be collected in hoppers, reslurrified or conveyed away.
