Rolls:
The mill will be furnished with steel alloy rolls ground to a plain finish. The ends of the roll faces will have a 45o bevel and be taper ground about .010" from the end of the roll to the 10" wide flat ground area.
Roll Bearings:
The rolls will operate in heavy duty roller bearings and will be equipped with anti-friction thrust bearings to prevent lateral movement. Pinion stand is equipped with anti[friction bearings throughout.
Rolling Mill Head:
The rolling housings are amply proportioned steel designed for good rigidity in finishing rolling. The assembly includes precision steel hardened roll with back-up diameter 8" x 10" wide and work rolls driven 5.300 diameter x 10" wide. High precision anti-friction roller bearings are proportioned to take load in excess of normal requirements and provide zero end float.
Roll Adjustment:
The mill will be furnished with double outboard gear. The double cut board gear arrangement will be used for fine roll adjustment. An interlocking device electronically is used for simultaneous or individual adjustment of the adjusting screws. The upper roll bearing boxes are held in position through raising rods which are attached to the adjusting screws. The adjusting screws are made of alloy steel with the hardened ends and rest against hardened steel plates
Pinion Gear:
Specially designed with alloy steel hardened herringbone gear to provide very smooth finish.
Power Screw Down Double Motors:
For rapid roll change between passes, we will furnish a motorized screw down arrangement will be suitable for making roll adjustment with stock in the mill.
Mill Drive:
The mill is driven by a 40 HP, AC Variable speed motor. The mill motor will be coupled to a combination herringbone reducer and pinion stand. The reducer and pinion stand are equipped with anti-friction bearings. Drive from the reducer and pinion stand to the rolls is through universal joint couplings.
Entry and Exit Table:
We plan on furnishing entry and exit tables keyed to the housings for alignment and readily adjustable vertically by adjusting screws and plain side guides.
Double Recoiler Assembly:
Rate for 500 lbs. capacity is mounted to base extension of the machine maintains perfect alignment between recoiler and rolls. Recoiler shaft is keyed and complete with air operator clutch and Over harm hold down Stand installation comprising of a welded steel base of heavy plate construction enclosing the motor gear reducer, pinion gear box, rolling head and recoiler for easy operation.
