River 45 ZNC | Precision Small Hole EDM Drilling Machine

The Ocean Technologies River Series ZNC High Speed EDM Drilling machines offer heavy duty cast construction and high quality components for a true “Tool Room” grade machine. Boasting maximum workpiece weights of up to 550 pounds, this machine can handle jobs usually associated with much larger machines without losing accuracy or smoothness of operation.

Drilling is performed using rotating brass or copper tubular electrodes from 0.004” to 0.118” in diameter. A reliable high pressure pump employs adjustable through spindle flushing from 100~1900 P.S.I. allowing for the best possible performance with any size electrode.

A high speed Z Axis servo motor, 190 RPM precision spindle and electrode vibration dampening device ensure stable accurate drilling. Newly developed machining circuits and integrated “Smooth Start” designed especially for small hole drilling, reduce wear and electrode tip deformation or “bullet nosing”. Because the electrode end stays square and flat, blind hole drilling and breakout time are dramatically reduced.
