W.F. WELLS Model B-25-3CA3 CNC, (6 degree Cant) 45° 22″ High X 40″ Wide
Mr. William F. Wells (Bill) moved to Three Rivers, Michigan in 1925 and formed Wells Manufacturing, a manufacturer of vertical meat cutting saws. In 1928, Wells Manufacturing developed the horizontal metal cutting bandsaw branded the Wells Model #4. He later introduced the Wells Model #8, which is still in production today, known as the Wellsaw Model #1016. Bill Wells sold his interest in Wells Manufacturing (now recognized as Wellsaw) and in 1948 formed W.F. Wells & Sons. The first saw model, M-9, was produced in 1949 and the company continued to produce, expand and refine their product line for the next 42 years.
In May of 1991, Mr. Robert F. Boyle, the owner of Wellsaw, purchased W.F. Wells & Sons from the Wells family. The company was renamed W.F. Wells, Inc. and has continued to grow and add to its ever expanding product line.

CONSTRUCTION CRITERIA
The W.F. Wells Model B-25-3C is a rugged heavy duty double column machine constructed of unitized steel frame construction and featuring full servo control of the force applied to the blade, resulting in increased production rates and extended blade life. This machine is designed and built for increased production rates, utilizing the latest improvements in band saw blade technology. Hydraulic features such as vise control and automatic blade tension control provides optimum sawing rates with minimum effort by the operator. The double column construction provides extremely stable saw frame guidance and stability.
All operator controls are conveniently located for maximum visibility and ease of operation. Controls are clearly and logically marked for easy identification.
Heavy duty spring loaded carbide guides designed with optimum blade control in mind and maintain rigid control for close tolerance.
Hydraulics are used to maintain constant blade tension as well as powering the rotary blade brush and controlling the movement of the idle guide arm.
The double column machine has a tremendous advantage over "pivot type" or "hinged type" machines, because sawing pressure is precisely controlled at the same amount of pressure throughout the entire range of travel.
Due to well conceived machine construction, all hydraulic and electrical components are easily accessible for ease of maintenance.
SAFETY
The Model B-25-3C is constructed to meet all applicable requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) requirements currently in effect, as interpreted by W.F. Wells.
The Model B-25-3C is also constructed to meet all criteria of American National Standard Institute, Standard ANSI B11.10, safety requirements for the construction, care and use of metal sawing machines.
MACHINE OPERATION
The Model B-25-3C is designed with operator convenience in mind, with all controls and adjustments in a convenient location. All controls are also conveniently identified for simple operation and minimal training. Saw vises are controlled by long stroke hydraulic cylinders for quick and easy set up. Work charts are located conveniently to assist the saw operator in set up.
ELECTRICAL CONTROLS
Magnetic motor starters have overload and low-volt protection. Control circuit transformer provides low volt control. NEMA 12 enclosure, oil tight pushbuttons, and wired to NFPA 79 standards, and includes fused disconnect.
Operator manual includes JIC electrical schematic, plus full documentation on all components.
All components are carried in stock by W.F. Wells; and in addition are commonly found in stock in most electrical supply houses all around the USA.
HYDRAULIC CONTROLS
The hydraulic circuit is designed to the finest standards and installed with future maintenance and servicing in mind. The components are standard off-the-shelf items and readily available from most hydraulic supply houses. The operator manual is supplied with a JIC hydraulic schematic.
