Description

The BEMATO BMT 560CHD is a heavy-duty, high-capacity conventional/horizontal lathe engineered for demanding turning, facing, and grooving operations in industrial and job shop environments. With a spindle bore of φ 104 mm as standard, the machine is ideal for bar and tube turning operations where deep internal passage is required. The robust design ensures high rigidity, vibration damping and dimensional stability under heavy cutting loads.

In standard configuration, the BMT 560CHD is delivered with a comprehensive accessory package to make the machine production-ready. This includes a multi-position length stop for repetitive turning operations, and a 12-inch, 3-jaw SK chuck with back plate matching the φ 104 mm spindle bore. The chuck is complemented by a center sleeve (MT #7 × 5) and a pair of dead centers (MT #5, two units) for supporting long or slender shafts. To stabilize workpieces, a steady rest (capacity 40–255 mm) equipped with roller jaws and a follow rest (capacity 30–186 mm) are included. Leveling screws are supplied for precise base alignment during installation. The standard powertrain includes a 10 HP / 4-pole main motor, along with a coolant system, LED work light, rapid traverse of apron, and a full service kit & tool box. For shipping protection, the machine is packaged on a pallet.

In operation, the BMT 560CHD supports large-diameter turning with exceptional rigidity, aided by its deep bed, strong cross-slide and tailstock integration. The φ 104 mm spindle bore allows long bar feeding or internal machining capacity in one pass. The multi-position length stop enables quick setups for repeated parts. The inclusion of steady and follow rests ensures workpiece stability during interruption-free machining of slender or cantilevered parts. The 10 HP drive provides ample torque for heavy cuts while maintaining surface finish integrity. Rapid traverse on the apron accelerates non-cutting moves, improving cycle times. The coolant system helps maintain thermal stability and chip removal, and the LED work light ensures clear visibility in the machining zone.

Optionally, the BMT 560CHD can be outfitted with enhancements to improve flexibility, automation, or precision: variable-speed spindle drive (VFD), digital readout (DRO) systems for cross and longitudinal axes, tailstock quill with hydraulic or servo control, steady/follow rest automation or motorization, chip conveyor systems, steady rest expansion jaws, taper attachment kits, and custom tooling fixtures to match shop requirements.

Overall, the BEMATO BMT 560CHD provides a solid, well-equipped platform out of the box, and with optional upgrades, can be adapted to more advanced or high-throughput turning applications.
