The Johnson Controls C450CPN-3 is a System 450 Series control module with one self-selecting analog output for proportional control. The output operates as either 0 to 10 VDC or 4 to 20 mA and selects the mode automatically according to the connected load. The module is both a sensing control and an operating control, with a backlit LCD and four-button touchpad user interface that allows the whole control system to be set up and adjusted at the module itself.

System 450 is the Johnson Controls/PENN modular digital electronic control platform, designed to replace the older System 350 and System 27 ranges. Every module is multipurpose and field configurable out of the box: a single control module can work stand-alone, or plug together with expansion modules to drive up to ten outputs from as many as three control sensors, controlling temperature, pressure and humidity simultaneously if the application requires it. The analog output runs in voltage mode when connected to devices with an impedance above 1,000 ohms, and in current mode into loads of 0 to 300 ohms; devices below 1,000 ohms may not behave as intended in voltage mode. Modules join with plug-together connectors so no field wiring is needed between them, and the assembly mounts on DIN rail or directly to a flat surface.
