The Johnson Controls C450RCN-1C is a System 450 Series reset control module with two SPDT line-voltage relay outputs for On/Off control. Reset control modules provide the features of the standard System 450 control modules for temperature and humidity control and add three capabilities the standard models do not have: setpoint reset, real-time setback scheduling, and run-time balancing (equal run time across outputs) - the last being particularly useful with two outputs, where lead/lag duty can be rotated automatically to even out equipment wear.

System 450 is the Johnson Controls/PENN modular digital electronic control platform, designed to replace the older System 350 and System 27 ranges. A single control module can work stand-alone, or plug together with expansion modules to drive up to ten outputs from as many as three control sensors. Modules join with plug-together connectors so no field wiring is needed between them, and the assembly mounts on DIN rail or directly to a flat surface. Power comes either from a C450YNN power supply module within the assembly or from an external 24 VAC Class 2 supply. Setpoint reset lets the control setpoint be driven automatically from a second sensor - typically outdoor air temperature - so heating or cooling setpoints track ambient conditions, and the real-time clock allows scheduled setback periods.
