Mechanical Frame & Columns
Welded one‑piece frame with prestressed columns and low‑deflection front platen to maintain die alignment under peak loads. Column pre‑stress reduces elastic deformation, ensuring constant bearing pressure and stable product geometry across recipes.

Main Cylinder & Hydraulics
Short‑stroke forged steel main cylinder with bronze‑guided piston and high‑strength seals. Variable‑displacement pumps and logic manifolds provide closed‑loop speed/pressure control for approach, extrusion and return phases. Prefill valves reduce cavitation and minimize dead time.

Container & Heating
Container with interchangeable liners and two independent heating zones (≈80 kW total). Controlled ramp‑rates maintain thermal uniformity, reducing sticking and improving die life. Automated axial alignment and tie‑rod tension checks support quick changeovers.

Billet Handling, Butt Shear & Piercer
Integrated billet loader aligns and feeds billets into the container. Butt shear removes the residual slug with a dedicated 0.85 MN cylinder; optional piercer (600 mm stroke) enables hollow profiles. Synchronization with press return avoids collisions and reduces cycle time.

Controls & Safety
Siemens S7 PLC with WinCC HMI provides grafcets, trend curves and event logs. Safety PLC covers interlocks, guarding and E‑stops with diagnostics. Encoders on critical axes (container holder, stem, shear) ensure repeatability and traceability.

ROBOTIC DIE HANDLING – 6-AXIS
Kawasaki 6-axis industrial robot integrated at the press station for die handling and around-die operations: applying/removing lubricants or release agents, circumferential cleaning, calibration touch-ups, and controlled gripping/repositioning of the die or die holder. The robot interfaces with the line’s control cabinets and local HMIs, offering Automatic mode for continuous production cycles and TEACH/JOG mode for setup & automatic operation. The Kawasaki D-series controller also supports external axes (up to 18 total) for conveyors, fixtures, or specialized end-effectors, and allows switching between joint-by-joint control (“Joint”) and coordinated motion relative to a defined coordinate system. The result is high repeatability, shorter die-change times, and improved operational safety.

COILER / WINDER
Motorized coiler with torque/tension control and traverse/lay‑on mechanism for even winding. Interchangeable mandrels support different coil IDs/ODs. Guarding and interlocks protect the operator during coil changes; optional double‑coiler enables seamless change‑over.

HOT BAR SAW (Flying Cut Saw)
Automated cold or flying saw achieves precise, repeatable lengths using inverter‑driven blade speed, hydraulic feed and synchronized vices/clamps. Encoder‑based length measurement ties to the HMI for recipe‑controlled changeovers.

RUNOUT TABLE
Segmented cooling table combining water spray and air knives to extract heat uniformly while preserving straightness. Roller supports and adjustable guides prevent sag and torsion during run‑out. Recipe‑driven valves set flow/pressure per alloy and section.
Instrumentation includes flowmeters, temperature probes and timers integrated to the HMI. Maintenance access is provided via removable covers with interlocks.

PULLER
This puller is used to accompany the extrusion from the saw position to the end of the run out table having the possibility to approach the press mouth.
- 500kg pulling force / 48m max runway length / max jaw opening 200mm

COOLING TABLE
Usable length is 30 m from sawing point.
Width : 5000 mm
This table allows the extruded bars to go from the main conveyor to the saw conveyor, by walking beam movement. The fixed bars are partly supported by the frame of the main conveyor and also by a frame besides the saw conveyor.
