Main Product Description
Used APV Type P-E single-effect finisher evaporator designed for forced-circulation rising-falling film evaporation and concentration of compatible liquid process products. The system is currently equipped with 16 Type 316 stainless steel plate units containing 65 total plates, a 30.5-inch Type 316 stainless steel snail-shell vertical separator, Type 304 stainless steel barometric condenser with steam ejector, and interconnecting vapor tubing. The original process design called for approximately 5,590 lb/hr feed at 190°F containing 9.0% suspended solids and 20.20% soluble solids, producing approximately 3,540 lb/hr product at 31.9% soluble solids and 185°F with an evaporation rate of approximately 2,050 lb/hr. The evaporator was originally designed for 19 plate units; three plate units are currently missing, so present evaporation capacity will be lower than the original design rate. Additional plate units may be installed to restore the original configuration. Overall footprint is approximately 8 feet wide x 9 feet long x 8 feet 2 inches high, and the system can be disassembled for shipping. Previously used for spent mash processing, the unit is in good condition and the plate gaskets appear to be in good condition.

FAQs
• What is the designed evaporation rate of this APV evaporator?
The original system design specifies an evaporation rate of approximately 2,050 lb/hr.
• Is the evaporator currently configured for the full original 2,050 lb/hr design capacity?
No. The evaporator was originally designed with 19 plate units, but it currently has 16 plate units. Three plate units are missing, so evaporation capacity will be lower than the original design rate as currently equipped.
• Can the original evaporation capacity be restored?
Additional plate units may be installed to restore the original 19-unit configuration and original designed evaporation rate, subject to verification of the replacement plate units and complete system configuration.
• How many plates are currently installed?
The 16 installed plate units contain a total of 65 plates.
• What material are the evaporator plates made from?
The plate sections are Type 316 stainless steel.
• What separator is included?
The system includes an approximately 30.5-inch Type 316 stainless steel snail-shell vertical separator.
• Does the system include a condenser?
Yes. It includes a Type 304 stainless steel barometric condenser with steam ejector.
• What was the original feed rate?
The system was designed for approximately 5,590 lb/hr of feed at 190°F.
• What solids concentration was the system designed to produce?
The original design specified feed at 20.20% soluble solids and product at approximately 31.9% soluble solids.
• What product rate was specified in the original design?
The design specified approximately 3,540 lb/hr of finished product at 185°F.
• What was this APV evaporator previously used for?
The system was previously used to process spent mash.
• What applications can this APV plate evaporator be used for?
Possible applications include evaporation and concentration of compatible food, beverage, fermentation, distillery, chemical, and other liquid process products requiring removal of water and increased solids concentration.
• Can Aaron Equipment help with shipping this APV evaporator?
Yes. Aaron Equipment can assist with coordinating freight and logistics for industrial process equipment. The evaporator has an approximate 8' x 9' footprint and can be disassembled for shipping, which may help with transportation planning.
• How can Aaron Equipment help determine whether this evaporator will work for my process?
Aaron Equipment can provide available equipment and process-design information to help buyers evaluate the system based on feed rate, evaporation requirements, solids concentration, metallurgy, current plate configuration, separator and condenser arrangement, and installation needs. Final capacity and process suitability should be confirmed for the buyer's specific product and operating conditions.
