What you are buying
A refurbished Agilent 1260 Infinity High Performance (HiP)  vacuum degasser, G4225A, with warranty coverage.
Every unit moves through the GenTech Certified process. Solution Scientists disassemble and inspect each module, replace all consumables and degraded wear components, then tune and calibrate the instrument and verify performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals. The instrument ships with its verification report. A certified-refurbished system gives you that performance without the capital cost or the lead time of a new purchase.
What Agilent says about this platform
Agilent engineered the 1260 Infinity Analytical Degasser to ensure maximum chromatographic performance by removing dissolved gases from HPLC mobile phases. Agilent highlights this module for its advanced vacuum container design and high-efficiency gas-permeable fluoropolymer membranes, which allow for continuous, inline degassing without altering solvent composition. Featuring a high-performance vacuum pump that dynamically controls vacuum levels based on atmospheric pressure, the G4225A significantly reduces baseline noise, prevents air bubble formation in pump heads, and eliminates erratic retention time drift. It stands as a rugged, low-maintenance benchtop module designed for seamless multi-channel integration within standard 1260 and 1200 series HPLC stacks.
What this module does
Vacuum degassing
Rather than a standalone analytical instrument, the Agilent G4225A is an essential fluidics module within a High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC / UHPLC) stack. Positioned at the very beginning of the system’s flow path, its primary job is to continuously pull dissolved ambient gases out of the mobile phase solvents before they reach the main pump.
This process executes several critical system-wide functions:
Prevents Bubble Formation: It extracts dissolved oxygen and nitrogen through semipermeable membranes, eliminating micro-bubbles that would otherwise destabilize the detector baseline and cause erratic pressure fluctuations.
Protects Hardware: By preventing outgassing, it isolates high-pressure check valves and pump heads from cavitation damage and premature seal wear.
Four-Channel Performance: It features four independent internal flow paths, allowing it to degas up to four separate mobile phase solvents simultaneously for advanced quaternary or binary gradient mixing.
HiP Low-Volume Efficiency: Utilizing advanced TFE/PDD copolymer tubing, it maintains high gas-permeation efficiency while keeping internal channel dead volume at an ultra-low 0.45 mL, dramatically speeding up solvent flushes.

What “GenTech Certified” means
Refurbishment at GenTech is a defined process, not a wipe-down. Every system moves through the same specific stages.
1. Disassembly and rebuild. Solution Scientists strip the instrument down, clean each module inside and out, and rebuild it from the frame up. They replace pump seals, pistons, and check valves to specification.
2. Configuration and new parts. Solution Scientists install the options and modules you selected and fit new wear parts throughout. They replace the detector lamp with a new one and reset the lamp hours.
3. Diagnostic and performance testing. Solution Scientists tune and calibrate the instrument, run system diagnostics, and confirm detector wavelength accuracy. They test full-system pressure and gradient performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals.
4. Delivery and installation. The instrument ships in protective packing with a one-year warranty option and professional installation available from a GenTech Solution Scientist.
Labs that run this system
The 1260 HPLC is method-compatible across the techniques most regulated and research labs run every day. These are the application areas buyers ask about most.
Precision Mobile Phase Stabilization
Pharma QC labs rely on the G4225A to prevent bubble formation in high-pressure pump heads during critical gradient separations. Thorough degassing ensures pristine baseline metrics and protects analytical sequences from strict regulatory validation failures.
Low-Noise Trace Contaminant Tracking
Environmental labs use the G4225A to achieve smooth baselines during trace pesticide and herbicide screenings. Continuous vacuum degassing minimizes baseline ripple on optical detectors, maximizing absolute system sensitivity for trace-level contaminants.
Reliable Carbohydrate and Preservative Assays
Food safety testing facilities deploy the 1260 degasser to maintain stable fluidics during complex beverage profiling panels. Removing dissolved gases prevents unexpected pump cavitation, ensuring reproducible retention times when quantifying ingredients.
High-Throughput Continuous Potency Profiles
High-capacity cannabis laboratories use this 4-channel module to keep multi-solvent setups perfectly primed during back-to-back potency runs. Eliminating outgassing prevents baseline noise, improving peak area precision for complex customer matrices.
Secure Seized Drug and Toxicology Sequences
Crime laboratories utilize this online degasser to guarantee fluidic consistency during extensive seized drug screening batches. The stable pump pressure delivers the highly defensible raw data needed to back up legal chain-of-custody tracking.
