What you are buying
A refurbished Agilent 1260 Infinity G1321B fluorescence detector (FLD), with CAN cable and warranty coverage. It measures fluorescence emission for sensitive, selective detection of fluorophores.
Every unit we sell moves through the GenTech Certified process. Solution Scientists disassemble and inspect each module, replace all consumables and degraded wear components, then tune and calibrate the instrument and verify performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals. The instrument ships with its verification report. A certified-refurbished system gives you that performance without the capital cost or the lead time of a new purchase.
What Agilent says about this platform
Agilent engineered the 1260 Infinity Fluorescence Detector (FLD) to deliver exceptional optical performance, multi-signal target molecule tracking, and seamless analytical-to-UHPLC integration. According to the OEM, its optimized optical design powered by a long-life Xenon flash lamp achieves ultra-low detection limits while supporting high data rates up to 144.9 Hz to accurately capture narrow peaks from fast liquid chromatography separations. Rapid, time-programmable wavelength switching allows the module to acquire up to 4 simultaneous signals or on-line spectra, providing elite selectivity and automated identification for complex matrix components.
What each module does
Fluorescence detection
Rather than a standard optical sensor, the Agilent G1321B operates as a highly specialized selectivity module within a High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC / UHPLC) stack. Positioned downstream of the analytical column, its primary job is to expose eluting compounds to precise excitation wavelengths and measure the resulting emitted light. This process executes several critical system-wide functions:
Trace-Level Quantification: It leverages a high-intensity 20W Xenon flash lamp and advanced concave holographic gratings to maximize light throughput, delivering vastly superior sensitivity compared to standard UV detectors.
Multi-Signal Identification: It utilizes a rapid-switching optical mechanism to monitor up to four distinct excitation/emission wavelength combinations simultaneously, allowing labs to track multiple compounds within a single run.
Spectral Evaluation: By executing fast online spectrum scans, the module allows operators to verify peak purity and build spectral libraries for unknown compound identification without stopping the flow path.
Smart Compliance Tracking: It features an integrated RFID tracking chip within the flow cell housing that automatically records usage history, cell dimensions, and pressure limits to simplify GLP laboratory auditing.

What “GenTech Certified” means
Refurbishment at GenTech is a defined process, not a wipe-down. Every system moves through the same specific stages.
1. Disassembly and rebuild. Solution Scientists strip the instrument down, clean each module inside and out, and rebuild it from the frame up. They replace pump seals, pistons, and check valves to specification.
2. Configuration and new parts. Solution Scientists install the options and modules you selected and fit new wear parts throughout. They replace the detector lamp with a new one and reset the lamp hours.
3. Diagnostic and performance testing. Solution Scientists tune and calibrate the instrument, run system diagnostics, and confirm detector wavelength accuracy. They test full-system pressure and gradient performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals.
4. Delivery and installation. The instrument ships in protective packing with a one-year warranty option and professional installation available from a GenTech Solution Scientist.
Labs that run this system
The 1260 HPLC is method-compatible across the techniques most regulated and research labs run every day. These are the application areas buyers ask about most.
Precision Impurity and Biomarker Quantitation
Pharma QC labs rely on the G1321B to isolate and quantify trace active ingredients and protein impurities down to picogram levels. Enhanced optical sensitivity ensures reproducible detection limits during rigorous validation protocols and complex drug discovery pipelines.
Ultra-Sensitive Organic Contaminant Tracking
Environmental labs use the G1321B to achieve ultra-low detection limits during demanding hazardous compound screenings. The powerful Xenon flash lamp isolates trace polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and synthetic chemical residues from heavily contaminated soil and water matrices.
Defensible Mycotoxin and Vitamin Assays
Food safety testing facilities deploy the 1260 FLD to accurately screen for naturally fluorescent toxins and essential nutritional components. The multi-signal tracking engine easily isolates trace aflatoxins, ochratoxin A, and amino acids within complex agricultural samples.
High-Sensitivity Consumer Safety Screening
High-capacity cannabis laboratories use this multi-channel module to achieve strict compliance benchmarks for trace micro-dose compounds. It provides the elite baseline resolution necessary to confidently quantify low-level mycotoxins and specific pesticide residues in complex plant extracts.
Defensible Toxicology and Seized Drug Profiles
Crime laboratories utilize this fluorescence detector to secure tight legal chains of custody during trace narcotics screening batches. Highly specific excitation monitoring generates the unambiguous raw data signatures needed to defend forensic results in court proceedings.
Purity and additives
Industrial labs separate and quantify synthesis intermediates, polymer additives, and stabilizers for QC and release testing.
Four-solvent scouting
Agilent recommends the quaternary pump for method development. Blend up to four solvents to scout selectivity before you lock a final method.
Proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics
Many omics workflows use mass spectrometry for detection and rely on LC for separation. The 1200 serves as the front end feeding your MS or fraction collector.
