What Agilent says about this platform
Agilent built the 6410 for single-point control of the LC and MS from one data system, covering Agilent 1100 and 1200 Series HPLC systems paired with the 6410 itself. Autotune reaches sensitivity and resolution specifications without manual adjustment. Agilent rates MS/MS sensitivity at 0.5 picograms of reserpine injected on-column, with a signal-to-noise ratio above 20:1 across three concurrent MRM transitions. The system runs electrospray, nanospray through an HPLC-Chip Cube interface, atmospheric pressure chemical ionization, or a multimode source that runs ESI and APCI at once. Three parallel-rod quadrupole sets separate and fragment ions, which improves ion focus and cuts chemical noise. Mass resolution offers three settings, from 0.7 to 2.5 atomic mass units full width at half maximum, with mass accuracy to within 0.1 u across the range and stability under 0.1 u over 24 hours. MassHunter Workstation software controls acquisition, qualitative analysis, and quantitative analysis. Time programming supports up to 99 time segments, each with up to 99 MRM transitions, along with polarity switching within a segment.
 
What each module does
Liquid chromatograph
Separates the mixture and delivers a reproducible gradient to the source. The 1200 front end runs the same pumps and samplers as a standalone HPLC.
Ion source
Converts the liquid eluent into gas-phase ions. Electrospray and Agilent Jet Stream handle polar and large molecules; atmospheric-pressure chemical ionization covers the less-polar compounds.
Mass analyzer
Two quadrupoles flank a collision cell. The first selects a precursor, the cell fragments it, and the second measures a product ion, which gives the selectivity and sensitivity that trace quantitation in complex matrices demands.
Vacuum and detection
Stages the ions from atmosphere to high vacuum, then counts them at the detector.

What “GenTech Certified” means
Refurbishment at GenTech is a defined process, not a wipe-down. Every system moves through the same five stages.
1. Disassembly and rebuild. Solution Scientists strip the instrument down, clean each module inside and out, and rebuild it from the frame up. They replace pump seals, pistons, and check valves to specification.
2. Configuration and new parts. Solution Scientists install the options and modules you selected and fit new wear parts throughout. They replace the detector lamp with a new one and reset the lamp hours.
3. Diagnostic and performance testing. Solution Scientists tune and calibrate the instrument, run system diagnostics, and confirm detector wavelength accuracy. They test full-system pressure and gradient performance against OEM and published benchmarks using known reference chemicals.
4. Data package you approve before shipment. The verification data goes to you for approval before the system leaves the bench. You see exactly how the instrument performs before it ships.
5. Delivery and installation. The instrument ships in protective packing with a one-year warranty option and professional installation available from a GenTech Solution Scientist.
