NEW APEC GM4040

The APEC GM4040-5L is a large-format, high-speed 5-axis gantry machining center engineered for precision machining of large and complex components. Combining a generous 4,000 × 4,000 × 1,500 mm working envelope, high-speed linear motor technology, a powerful HSK63A built-in spindle, and simultaneous 5-axis capability, the GM4040-5L is designed for demanding applications requiring high productivity, accuracy, and superior surface quality.

Built around a 4,000 × 4,000 mm table with an 8 T/m² load capacity, the GM4040-5L provides the capacity required for substantial workpieces while maintaining fast dynamic performance. Linear motor drives on the X, Y, and Z axes deliver rapid traverse rates of up to 60 m/min, supported by high-rigidity roller-type linear guideways for stable, responsive motion.

At the heart of the GM4040-5L is an AGA fork-type 5-axis milling head equipped with an HSK63A built-in spindle capable of up to 24,000 rpm. The spindle delivers 60/75 kW (S1/S6) power and 48.2/60.5 Nm (S1/S6) torque, providing the speed and performance required for efficient high-speed machining. The standard milling head provides B-axis travel of ±120° and C-axis rotation of ±360°, with B- and C-axis swivel/rotation speeds up to 60 rpm.

The machine incorporates Heidenhain optical linear and circular scales across all five axes, together with spindle thermal compensation and dedicated cooling systems to support precision during extended machining operations. Under the specified temperature-controlled factory conditions, positioning precision is rated at X/Y 0.0105 mm and Z 0.0075 mm, with repeatability of X/Y 0.007 mm and Z 0.005 mm. The specified 5-axis TCPM accuracy is ±0.03 mm.
