Used (1) BROWN MODEL M-1300-EP MODULAR Single Station:
A. GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
A Brown Machine designed and manufactured, cut sheet, single station, shuttle motion, vacuum thermoformer. A horizontal shuttle car indexes the cut-to-size sheets through the load, heat and form stations.
B. MODEL AND FORM SIZE DESIGNATION:
M-1300-EP
1. MAXIMUM MOLD SIZE:
1.1 30" x 36".
The top platen is actuated by one (1) ____HP electric motor drive unit.
The bottom platen is actuated by one (1) ____HP electric motor drive unit.
The top platen is capable of handling a tool weight of 600 lbs.
The bottom platen is capable of handling a tool weight of 600 lbs.
1.2 10" sheet sag clearance.
2. DEPTH OF DRAW:
2.1 12" below sheet line, 12" above sheet line.
The top platen has a 28" maximum stroke.
The bottom platen has a 22" maximum stroke.
C. SPECIFICATIONS:
1. MAXIMUM SHEET SIZE:
1.1 Add 2" (50mm) to width and length of mold size.
2. CLAMP FRAME:
2.1 The clamp bars are operated by lock-over-center compound, toggle action air cylinders mounted on 18" centers.
The clamp frame bolts to the car and has color coded, quick disconnects on the incoming air lines, adjacent to the frame.
The long dimension frame and bars are adjustable front to back in the short dimension frame. To change the long dimension requires replacement with the desired length frame section and bar.
The clamp bar has spring loaded pins in the gripping edge on 2" centers for gripping the sheet.
2.2 The clamp frame has eight (8) clamp cylinders.
2.3 The clamp frame is arranged for top loading.
3. OVEN:
3.1 The lower bank is manually adjustable vertically to compensate for different sheet sag characteristics.
The lower bank is equipped with a safety screen.
3.3 The top and bottom heater banks are fitted with infrared, electric, ceramic heating elements. The elements are 4.7" x 4.7", 400W.
Zones 1 & 4 - Twenty-two (22) heating elements each zone outer ring.
Zones 2 & 5 - Fourteen (14) heating elements each zone inside ring.
Zones 3 & 6 - Six (6) heating elements each zone center area.
All of the above elements have a flat surface.

3.4 IR head positioned in the center of the top oven. Display is mounted in the enclosure door.
4. OVEN HEATER CONTROLS:
4.5 Ceramic heaters - top and bottom:
Six (6) zone percentage timer control thru SLC-5/02.
Zones 1, 2 & 3 - top. Zones 4, 5 & 6 - bottom.
5. OVEN AIR JET SYSTEM:
5.1 The manually actuated (from the load/unload area) air jet system in the lower bank of the oven simultaneously shuts off the oven heaters and activates the air jet.
6. FORMING STATION:
6.1 The form station has top and bottom platens that are actuated by two-speed electric motors.
Each platen speed and stroke is controlled by adjustable position limit switches.
The limit switches are accessible by the operator from the front of the form station.
Each platen has a multi-point gear rack/torsion shaft guiding to provide parallelism and stability.
The top platen will be chain driven to front and back drive shafts.
The bottom platen will be driven thru gear boxes to the drive shafts.
Each drive shaft has a disc brake to hold the platens during pressure forming.
7. COOLING FANS:
7.1 One (1) 1/4 HP, 16" diameter, high volume fans on adjustable position mounts. Fan is located above the form area on the inboard side.
8. FORM FUNCTION VALVING:
8.1 One (1) 1.5" main vacuum and one (1) .5" air ejection valve with a globe valve.
Top mounted for use by the top tool.
8.2 Vacuum reservoirs are sized per the maximum requirement of the mold size and depth of draw:
One (1) 100 gallon reservoir.
The vacuum line from the tank to the valves is a hose without any 90o elbows.
8.3 Additional one (1) 1.5" main vacuum and one (1) .5" air ejection valve with a globe valve.
Bottom mounted for use by the bottom tool.
8.4 One (1) 1.5" vacuum bleed valve with ball valve and adjustable position, trip actuated limit switch.
Side mounted for use by the top or bottom tool.
8.5 One (1) 1.5" vacuum pull valve with ball valve.
Side mounted for use by the top or bottom tool.
8.6 One (1) 1.5" vacuum dump valve with ball valve.
Side mounted for use by the top or bottom tool.
8.7 One (1) bubble height circuit with photocell retroflex control.
Top mounted.
8.10 Blow form valve.
Side mounted for use by the top or bottom tool.
9. ELECTRICALS:
9.1 480 volts, 3 phase, 60 hertz primary power requirement.
120 volts, 1 phase, 60 hertz secondary control power.
10. ELECTRICAL SEQUENCE CONTROL:
10.1 Allen Bradley SLC-5/02 solid state programmable controller with non-volatile EEPROM (electrical erasable programmable read only memory). Includes one extra plug in memory module.
Timer status is accessible and programmable through the panel mounted access terminal.
11. MAIN ELECTRICAL ENCLOSURE:
11.1 The enclosure is attached to the main frame, adjacent to the oven.
The enclosure and components are designed and assembled as follows:
NEMA 12 constructed enclosure.
Flange operated main disconnect.
All power branch circuits from the main disconnect are individually fused.
Padlock for the disconnect "OFF" position.
Industrial grade push buttons, selector switches, etc.
NEC/JIC wire sizing and color codings.
12. CONTROL CONSOLE:
12.1 The operator console is attached to the main frame on the right side of the form station.
The console contains all the push buttons, selector switches and pilot lights necessary for automatic and manual machine cycling.
