Manufacturer Information
Hockmeyer Equipment Corporation
Hockmeyer manufactures industrial mixing, dispersing, milling, and particle-reduction equipment for applications involving paints, coatings, inks, adhesives, chemicals, sealants, composites, and specialty formulations.
The Hockmeyer HCS-II-1000 is a concentric dual-shaft mixing and dispersion system combining a high-speed disperser with a low-speed anchor agitator. This configuration provides high-shear dispersion while the anchor promotes bulk product movement and helps process higher-viscosity formulations.
Description
Available for sale is a used Hockmeyer Model HCS-II-1000 concentric dual-shaft disperser with a 1,000-gallon working capacity and approximately 1,425-gallon total tank capacity.
The system combines a 100 HP high-speed disperser drive with a 30 HP low-speed anchor agitator drive. Both drives are rated for 230/460V, 3-phase, 60 Hz electrical service and are equipped with variable-frequency drives (VFDs) for adjustable operating speeds.
The high-speed shaft is equipped with a 24" stainless steel disperser blade, while the low-speed anchor agitator incorporates nylon scrapers to promote product movement along the tank wall.
A major feature of this package is the inclusion of three approximately 78" diameter jacketed mixing tanks. The vessels have sealed lids featuring approximately 24-1/2" manways and sight glasses.
The tanks are rated for 14.5 PSI internal pressure to 29.5" Hg vacuum. The jackets are rated for 14.5 PSI and stated as designed for 30 PSI.
A hydraulic lift provides approximately 82" of vertical rise, allowing the mixing assembly to be raised for tank changes and access. Hydraulic power is supplied by a 5 HP hydraulic power unit with a 100-gallon oil reservoir.
The package also includes a remote operator control enclosure, digital tachometers, ammeters, and temperature indicator.
With three interchangeable process tanks, high- and low-speed agitation, jacketed construction, vacuum capability, and VFD-controlled drives, this system offers a versatile solution for dispersion, blending, high-viscosity mixing, formulation, and controlled batch processing.
Approximate installation footprint is 15.6' x 16.6'.

Pressure and vacuum ratings should be verified against current vessel condition and applicable inspection requirements before pressure or vacuum service.
Frequently Asked Questions

What is the working capacity of the Hockmeyer HCS-II-1000? The system has a stated 1,000-gallon working capacity, with approximately 1,425 gallons total capacity.

Why does this mixer have two agitator shafts? The 100 HP high-speed disperser provides high shear for dispersion and powder incorporation, while the 30 HP low-speed anchor agitator promotes bulk circulation and wall movement, particularly with higher-viscosity products.

How many tanks are included? The package includes three approximately 78" diameter jacketed tanks, allowing multiple batches or formulations to be staged around the mixing system.

Can the system operate under vacuum? The tanks are stated as rated from 14.5 PSI to 29.5" Hg vacuum. Buyers should verify vessel condition, pressure/vacuum components, documentation, and applicable inspection requirements before operation.

Does the mixer have variable-speed control? Yes. Both the 100 HP disperser and 30 HP anchor drives are equipped with variable-frequency drives, allowing their operating speeds to be adjusted for different process requirements.

Can Aaron Equipment assist with shipping and logistics? Yes. This is a substantial multi-component system with three tanks, hydraulic equipment, controls, and a roughly 15.6' x 16.6' installation area. Aaron Equipment can assist with rigging and loading coordination, freight planning, domestic or international transportation, and customs documentation as required.
