Overview
NMR

Manufacturer: Bruker BioSpin
Model: SmartCooler BCU I -40/50
Type: NMR Variable-Temperature Gas Cooling Unit
Application: NMR Probe Temperature Control
Condition: Used / Reconditioned

The Bruker SmartCooler BCU I -40/50 is a compressor-based cooling unit designed to provide chilled gas for variable-temperature (VT) NMR experiments. The BCU I is designed to cool the VT gas to below −40 °C, with a maximum gas flow of approximately 50 NL/min.

The BCU I is used with compatible Bruker NMR probes and variable-temperature systems to enable sample temperatures below room temperature. It is particularly useful for laboratories performing routine VT NMR experiments where controlled cooling of the probe gas stream is required.

Key Features
Bruker SmartCooler BCU I -40/50
Compressor-based refrigeration system
VT gas cooling to below −40 °C
Up to approximately 50 NL/min gas flow
Designed for Bruker NMR variable-temperature applications
Suitable for compatible room-temperature and other NMR probe configurations
Electrical refrigeration eliminates the need for liquid nitrogen for routine cooling
Actual unit shown in photographs

The BCU I is the successor to Bruker's earlier BCU05 cooling unit and was designed for NMR experiments requiring sample temperatures below room temperature.
