Fair 1700 17-Wheel Hay Rake, Turn, Fluff and Merge

The Fair 1700 is a 17-wheel hay rake with 60-inch rake wheels, up to 31 feet of raking width and three operating modes: turn, fluff and merge. Walking tandems support the frame over uneven ground, while adjustable flotation springs let the individual rake wheels follow field contours. A weatherproof wired control panel folds, telescopes and rotates the rake arms from the tractor using one hydraulic remote.
Turn, fluff or merge
Turning rolls two windrows onto dry ground while keeping them separate, exposing the damp underside without combining the crop into a heavier row.
Fluffing lifts and loosens a settled windrow while retaining its width, opening the crop to air and lifting it off moist ground.
Merging brings two windrows together for baling. The adjustable 30- to 70-inch windrow range gives you room to set the finished row for your baler pickup.
Flotation and crop clearance
Walking tandems and frame suspension help the rake travel over uneven ground. Each rake wheel has adjustable flotation springs to control its contact with the crop, plus counteracting springs that return the wheel after it bounces up. The flotation adjustment lets the tines reach the crop without forcing them into the soil, helping keep dirt out of the windrow.
The frame beams sit behind the rake wheels, leaving space for bulky crop to move through. Reinforcement bands spread an impact across several teeth while preserving tooth flexibility, a useful feature when raking corn stalks. Wheel wind guards are included on this offering.
Controls and optional center kicker
The in-cab controls and position indicators let you change rake-arm position and move between field and transport settings without getting out to reposition the arms. An optional center kicker works crop beneath the middle of the rake to help lift material that the main wheels leave under the frame.
