This system uses 2 single-wound rolls of polyethylene film – one located on top of the machine and one located at the bottom of the machine. Two sheets are sealed together at the center to make one sheet of film that the package will travel through. As product travels down the infeed conveyor a photo eye is activated by the product and the film is automatically advanced past the seal bar, once the product has passed through the seal area, the seal bar is activated and comes down to seal the film around the product. At this point the package is sealed in poly film with the ends open, now the package is picked up by the tunnel conveyor belt and automatically transferred into the shrink tunnel where the film will be heated up and will then shrink tightly around the package somewhat closing or reducing the size of the open ends, if enough film is used you can sometime completely enclose the package ends with compression rollers.
Production speeds of 8 to 20 PPM can be obtained depending on package length, film thickness, etc.
