UPPER JAW IN HEAD CUTTER M.000040026
Overview
The upper jaw is one of the two hardened cutting surfaces in a cutter head assembly.
It works together with the lower jaw to grip, shear, or cut material when force is applied through the cutter mechanism.
During operation, the upper jaw transfers cutting force to the workpiece (wire, rod, cable, metal stock, scrap material, etc.), creating a shearing action against the opposing jaw.
Because it is the primary wear surface, it is often manufactured from hardened tool steel and is designed to be replaceable when worn or damaged
