The Darbert CY-S1740G is a high-speed precision gap-bed engine lathe designed for industrial parts manufacturing. Constructed with a cast iron headstock, gear-box, apron, and bed-ways, the machine features induction-hardened bed-ways. It offers a 16.7 in swing over the bed, a 9.4 in swing over the cross slide, and a 25.6 in swing in the gap, with a distance between centers of 39.4 in. The spindle has a D6 nose, a 2.24 in bore, and an MT6 taper, providing 12 speed steps ranging from 20 to 2000 RPM. Threading capabilities include a range of 2 to 56 TPI for inch systems and 0.02 to 0.55 in for metric systems. The longitudinal feed range is 0.0024 to 0.0323 in/rev, while the cross feed range is 0.0008 to 0.0114 in/rev. Additional technical features include a lead screw, and an MT4 tailstock with 5.0 in of quill travel. Powered by a 7.5 HP main motor and a coolant pump, the unit includes a mono-block bed base for rigidity and features such as a foot brake, longitudinal automatic stop, and a manual lubrication pump.
