Additional information: the Killion extruder was custom designed to provide fundamental rheological information about polymer/additive systems over a wide range of process relevant shear rates and it's versatility and ease of modification. The most significant rheological characteristics of a polymer system is it's viscosity. This Killion extruder was to provide such fundamental relationships as well as providing a significant amount of in process equipment parameters (extruder power requirements, screw torque etc)
