The model NB-130PE3.5 planer type, CNC horizontal boring and milling machine is among the Ikegai products being demonstrated by Mitsui Machine Technology. The heavy-duty machine is especially suited for large, complex workpieces where a high degree of accuracy is required.
Among the machine's features are a 63-in. x 86-in. rotary table with 22,000-lbs. workpiece capacity. Standard control is a Fanuc 18--MB CNC for 5-axis machining with 137-in. X-Axis, 98-in. Y-Axis, 63-in. Z-Axis, 27 1/2-in. W-Axis (5 1/8-in. bar) and a contouring B-Axis using a 90° shot pin with 0.001° hydraulic clamping. A three-range, 35-hp milling spindle motor delivers up to 2,793 ft.-lbs. torque at speeds up to 2,500 rpm.
